WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?

I have used a complete range of types of media and technology to form the magazine into its final result. Using helpful websites, which helps to showcase slideshows, i.e. slideshare, has helped me build my ideas and design into one big picture, easily allowing me to be concise and able to see my ideas with ease and in a consistent and dynamic way. It is also high in quality in a visual manner, and adds appeal to my presentations. Also it is accessible and easy to use.
Mac software has also shaped a vital part of my magazine – by allowing images from a camera to import onto the desktop with ease. iPhoto helps organise, import and if needed, slightly edit an image. Images are a needed convention for magazines, and without the use of iPhoto, this would be virtually impossible to have the ability to add photos. Also, the application Preview allowed me to view these photos when choosing and deciding images for my publication, which was useful as it was a quick method of looking at the images.
Advancing from that I used Photoshop, a well known, highly popular and professional design software, which takes photo manipulation to the highest quality - if you allow it. Having previous knowledge on Photoshop has helped me improve and put my existing knowledge to the test, gaining more useful tips, such as layer styles, which allows me to manipulate a layer, for example, a text layer which enables the layer to be manipulated and formed into something which is more aesthetically pleasing. Here is a presentation with a step-by-step process from when I used Photoshop.
Another software that I had used is called Pages, another Mac product. This helped me create my double page spread. The reason that I used Pages rather than Photoshop as Pages is more useful towards publishing, and not so much design. This was useful as I was able to use this to my advantage and create a sleek, professional and edgy look to my magazine, as I was able to format the text into columns, so it looked a lot more like an actual magazine. Also, this helped me layout my double page spread efficiently, as it is easy to use. Here is my double page spread.
Another application that I used is called iMovie, where I was able to create a movie easily and efficiently. I used this to show the flat plan of my photographs, which can be found here. This is a very dynamic way to show my work in an innovative way. Here you can find one of my posts where I used iMovie.

There was also Powerpoint, which is a helpful application which enables you to create presentations in a quick yet appealing manner. Using Powerpoint then helped me upload my presentations via slideshare. Using Powerpoint has also helped me express my views in a dynamic way. Examples of me using my work can be found here. I also used Excel, where it helped me create pie charts with ease, and is also a dynamic way to show you work. One of the posts where I used excel can be found here.

There are also websites such as dafont.com and brusheezy.com which helped me towards the design of the magazine. It taught me about how to easily download and install fonts and Photoshop brushes to create an even more appealing, modern and unique look.
Examples of me using dafont.com can be seen here and examples of my work from brusheezy.com can be viewed here.

I've also used the website Prezi.com as a different way to present my ideas. It's a very unique and modern way to put ideas on, as you can create a range of views onto one presentation, which is useful as everything is there at once, but not in a dull or bland way. Here you can see one of my Prezi presentations.
I also used Flickr.com to showcase my images in an easy way. To see a slideshow via Flickr, click here.
There is also Youtube.com, which is a modern way to show videos of one of your interests, and can be shared easily. You can see a use of this in my INTRODUCTION post.
