For the Photo shoot i had to prepare a variety of things beforehand to ensure both an efficient and successful Photo shoot. This included planning out my shot/location list, organising a model, fixing out times and dates, and any health and safety precautions that i should consider. Also I had the aid of the flat plans of the photographs to look back on to generate ideas.
Firstly, I looked at possible models that i thought would depict the Indie genre well. This then required me to ask, once I found the right model, to bring possible outfits that would fit the Indie genre well.
From there, I then looked at locations I could use. Referring back to my flat plans I looked at ideas of both natural/street locations to places where it was blank/plain. From there, I luckily had a connection with a warehouse, where i took advantage of the opportunity and rented out the place for photos with the prop i.e. the guitar. From there a day was planned to shoot outdoors as well, covering locations such as a zebra crossing which models after "The Beatles" album cover, yet in a more playful manner.
For the outdoor images, I had to consider the time of day, as it is Winter and therefore begins to get dark quicker, and I was wanted natural lighting, i had to take time into consideration, mainly focusing on times before midday and before 4pm generally.
Also, since one of the pictures included a zebra crossing, I'd have to consider safety to ensure that there were no cars present when taking the photos.
I also experimented with shot types, angles, framing and lighting. I didn't just stick to my flat plans, as this would have otherwise restricted any other possible outcomes. Therefore, I took a variety of shots, including the ones i initially thought of. Once I took the photos, I imported them to my desktop using iPhoto.
The next step is to use the software, Photoshop, to manipulate the photos to add more effect to the image where necessary and appropriate.
